Extended Bolt Question

I installed my summer rims and tires this past weekend and I decided to put on the 5MM spacers on the front to cure the rubbing and OMG did it ever!!!! No more rubbing whatso ever! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

I bought the spacers and extended bolts used from a member here, but I dont remember from who. I am concerned with the quality of the bolts as I've heard of them shearing or breaking. Can someone shed some light on what these bolts are? Should I replace them before my wheels fly off?

The spacers are marked H&R, and the only markings on the bolts are as shown here:

Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Extended Bolt Question (lowenhart)

Not for nothing, I thought that 5mm spacers didn't require different/extended bots...
Re: Extended Bolt Question (lowenhart)

Are they 17mm heads versus the stock 19mm? They look like the ones I got from IPD for the 15mm spacers.
Re: Extended Bolt Question (xman03)

They are 19mm heads same as stock
Re: Extended Bolt Question (AthruC)

Debates go back and forth on it. Seems that it has settled on that you do not need extra bolts for regular driving, but if you intend to track the car, at all, then go with the extended bolts for the definitive, safe fit.
I would definitely recommend longer bolts with 5mm spacers...unless of course you want your wheel to fall off.

What about the locking lug? I have been considering the 5mm spacers for my 18"s. I have not put them on yet, but I don't know about putting 4 longer lugs on with the shorter locking lug. I suppose if they are properly tightened then there should be no torsion.

Once again with proper torque, they will not fall off using 5mm spacers.

Is this good for my application? Sorry, I am clueless when it comes to this. I torqued them down to 100lbs

Any one know where these bolts originate from?

Thanks

Henry

Would you mind taking a shot of them to see if they have the same markings on them as mine?

Thanks!!!

10.9 is an EXTREMELY strong bolt for our applications. You're good to go! Can't comment about the torque spec, though...but the bolt strength is as good as you can get.

Check them after about 100 miles and retorque them every so often!
