I'm looking at getting a custom cat back system set up but I am not sure what type of muffler to go with. Should I get a custom flowmaster set up? or should i go with a flow through type muffler like the Blitz NUR Spec like Kai's, or the A'Pexi N1?? My local american muscle shop says go with flowmaster, and the ricer shop says go with Bltiz or Apexi so naturally i am confused, Any help would be great, thanks.

flowmaster is what you put on your white-fendered ranger. Assuming you don't have one, better yet, you have a fine-tuned european machine, go with the quality. Oh, and I'm in the market for an exhaust system as well, any of you guys out there got pics of what the back end of the c-70 looks before and after exhaust upgrade, I like size, but not too much, don't need a barrel hanging off my baby.

Hehe...well, for my case, I a bit special I guess. I have both Dynomax Ultraflow and the Blitz Nur Spec. I personally will choose Maganflow or Dynomax Ultraflow over Blowmaster. Blowmaster just sounds loud, but in a nasty way. If you see the cut thru of the blowmaster, you will realize how restrictive that thing is. But then if loud noise is what you are trying to achieve, that might be a good choice for you.
The reason I had two was b/c the idling exhaust tone from just Blitz and no cat was a getting a bit too obnoxious for my quiet and peaceful neighbor, plus I thought with a 2nd muffler would probably make the overall tone more refine. And it did.
The only two reasons I chose the can an live with all the disapproval from my fellow Volvo friends were b/c that was the only thing in the market at that time that will fit right in the rear section...and doesn't look like a cheap ricer's can from scome cheapo catalog company. Then there was always this option of adding a silence "cap" at the tailpipe opening to make the thing quieter whenever needed.
I'll be redoing a good section of piping towards the back of my car on Thursday, let me know if any one of you are interested for me to ask the shop to duplicate an exact set of piping for your C70, I think they should be able to do a catback for you guys. The catch is, you would have to change out your cat, and downpipe...or you can simply have your shop custom make a flange from wherever the new system is starting.
Not sure if I'm making myself clear yet, but just let me know if you guys are interested. I just found a shop that can do a very good welding job with mandrel bending sections.

BTW, don't use Supersprint if you want performance. It's good for those who want to tell others they have an aftermarket exhaust system and want something quieter and a bit better than stock performance. There's really no way out of this, if you want more power, it will just be a bit louder.

I have a Magnaflow. It has a good tone, and its not loud. Just enough to give the C a little growl. And cruisin on the highway, it actually gets quieter, so its very comfortable.

I'll be up in your neck of the woods on the 23rd of November (but maybe earlier if u can get thus done before that). If you can get it done, I WILL BUY IT. Is it 3"? The shop i went to said 3" wouldn't fit over the axle?? ..And you know I have searching the globe for a downpipe, WITHOUT cat. Cheapest I found is 3,995SEK (about 429 US) from SCT Tuning. That's before tax and shipping. And it 'll take 4 weeks, i dont feel like waiting that long. TAP said they can get Ferrita DP, no cat, for 675. And a shop here said they can do it for about 400, but they were kinda shady, so i'm STILL looking...SO, in case you haven't noticed, I'M INTERESTED!!

Re: Exhaust for C70 (c70pusher)

Well, the thing is, I'm not doing the dp and cat since I don't even know how factory 16T turbo is going to situated and what kinda cat people want. So I don't want to get into that. I will just make the catback "piping" only. By doing so, that means people would have to go out and purchase their own mufflers...and if you guys want, you can do either Ultraflow or Magnaflow for the 1st muffler, and whatever you think will fit for your car for the 2nd muffler. I have the Blitz as you all already knew.

Re: Exhaust for C70 (c70pusher)

I installed a cat-back from ipd. It fit great, looks very nice (stainless). Supposed to add 10 HP ... kinda hard to tell.
I tried both their dual tip (looks cheap, sounds puffy), and single tip (too large), so I put my stock tip back on (stealth!).
The overall sound now is just a little bit louder ... you can hear a slight drone when cruising when before you couldn't hear anything. It sounds nicer from outside, though. Not throaty or anything ... just a little bit lower.

I take it the first two pics in the set are of the stock tip? btw, I like the look of the single tip from ipd.

I remember "Raffi" had a Supersprint exhaust and it sounded mean! I don't know about performance wise, but based on the sound itself, it meant business. are you saying that Supersprint is all show no go (ie, sound and no performance)?

Just a bit bigger than stock.

You could have gone custom, cheaper and you will have more choices on what to use for the mufflers.

I think he's got single muffler kit....which might help, one less muffler (especially when they are not as straight through), more power...and a bit more noisy.
They are good if you don't want the noise, I think they are a lot more restrictive than customed ones...okay, not think, I know as a fact.

ECU, Exhaust, mounts, and an extra k&n filter. i love the way the stock tip looks, it just blends with the car IMO.
