deerok,
I'll try to remember to get a photo of my tap solution tomorrow and post it. In the meantime, if you look at the intake manifold, on the right is one vacuum line port going straight back with a small rubber line. I put a T in that line and it relays vac and boost just fine.

Tap into the black vacuum line coming off of the intake manifold. Its all the way to the right at the end of the manifold closest to the airbox.

Just to help clarify, you guys should make a "faux compass" to point to the front, and right/left of the car. I assumed you were taking a picture from straight on, and when I went outside to check, I saw where the line was.

To steal pictures from another thread, this shows it clearly.

I like the dot and the circle approach http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

So... any good reason for choosing that hose? Is it just the correct diameter or something? (I don't have a boost gauge and haven't really examined any.)

Also, anyone know what that hose down and to the right of the hose in question is? (The one that goes into the brass fitting.)

Thanks.

That hose is close to the intake manifold and it allows for the best indication of a true boost and vacumn signal based off the actual manifold pressure.

That hose you are asking about runs through a series of vacumn solenoids to deliver manifold pressure/vacumn data to help regulate engine contol and AF Ratios. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

I'm having a tough time setting up my vacuum lines and T adapter.
I bought an 1/8" T adapter from an auto parts store, but it is the exact same diameter as the tubing I got with my IPD kit. I haven't seen how it would fit on the stock hose.
Someone that has done it, what size T adapter did you get, and what size was your tubing?
How did you get the tubing threw the firewall?
Re: (xUNiQuE)

Through the opening where the hood latch cable passes through.
Re: (xUNiQuE)

I haven't installed my tubing yet. I can't even get the tubing onto the T adapter.
But allegedly there is room next to the hood release
Re: (Tiny)

im going throu the fuse box in that hole that has the foam plug in it.. into the fender and out to the engine compartment.

Re: (jstro)

Also used where the latch cable goes thru the firewall for the nylon tube.

What is the best way to tap the power for the backlighting ?

Re: (redz1006)

I also went though the hood release cable area, it was easy with a coat hanger snake and brings it right out under the dash.

How I attached the line to the T-fitting, used a random steel tube to slip over the plastic hose. The metal tube was barely big enough to squeeze the hard plastic tube into, good tight seal. The metal adapter then slid right into the vac hose, vac hose attached to the T some wire tires and your all good.

I was probably going to use something like this to tap into the power supply for the cigarette lighter or something to power the light.

Re: (NJGreenBudd)

thats what i used a add -a -circuit 10 amp 3.99 at auto zone and tapped into the position light fuse worked perfectly.
