Has anyone had any experience with the Evolve slotted rotors?
Ive been keeping my ear to the ground over here for some good info on brakes.
I saw that the Hawk pads seemed to be the street pad of choice, but what about rotors?
Looking for something ideal for street use with the occasional track day.
I was looking at the EBC rotors, but people dont seem to be a fan of their products...BREMBO doesnt make any aftermarket rotors for the S40/V50 either

Re: Evolve Slotted Rotors? (C4L3)

I think S40Boy or S40Racer or someone with a screen name like that recently installed some of these...I'm sure they will chime in if they see this thread. That said, I think they look cool and probably function just fine.

I have the EBC dimple-drilled and slotted rotors, and my friend has slotted only rotors (brembo on an EVO). His do not make the noises that mine do - I'd go with slotted next time.

My EBCs wich are slotted and drilled makes a bit more noise but nothing I can't live with.
If it bothers you just turn up the volume. May I recommend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw5s3CB_1pE

FWIW, I have been looking into rotors from R1 concepts http://www.r1concepts.com
They are relatively cheap, but I've read many reviews from other enthusiasts forums and people have nothing but good things to say about them. I will be working on my brakes in the next few months, so I might give those a try.

Re: Evolve Slotted Rotors? (kpsingh0)

Ive never had any complaints using cross drilled or slotted rotors however as far as longevity i recommend slotted only. The thought of having cheese graters for rotors doesnt seem appealing lol.
I find it annoying that i keep finding products i like for the 2.4i rotors compared to the larger T5 rotors

I tend to run kevlar ceramic pads (mintex for race) and EBC green kevlars for daily driving. The stock rotors tend to be great for wear as far as i have seen, 46K on them and replaced due to being warped.
Todd

Re: Evolve Slotted Rotors? (40 Rouge)

Hey thanks for the link! Those rotors looks pretty decent, cheap to boot. Reviews are generally good, kinda 50/50, but I guess for that cost you cant ask for terribly much.
Thanks for the suggestions and info so far everyone, I would still like to hear from one of the folks that have the Evolve rotors though

Rotors wont really give you any more bite, thats the job of the pads.

Thank you, Big
Looks like I will skip to rotors and retain the OEM's and toss some nice Hawk pads on it
