Re: (Copeland)

I have seen the takspeed, heico, and ultimate pedals. I just like to compare everything before I actually buy.

Seems like they're V50. No price listed.
Was there any concensus? I know tmtalpey likes his Heico pedals.

In my old days I had some AC Schnitzer pedals on my car (BMW) and aestheticaly they were nice, but I like to drive barefoot during summer, and those pedals would hurt my feet. Just my 0.02 cents.

It's about braking - you can't brake anywhere nearly as well barefoot as with shoes. Please be careful.
Tom.

Re: (bassman)

actually bassman, I was trying to bid last minute, but I didnt' know I had to log in before I placed a bid and when I did and tried to bid, the auction was over. I knew i should've started the bidding process with 25 sec to go! doh.
Anyways, enjoy the pedals and let us know how they are.
btw, in case you didn't know, the pedal set is missing one screw. The seller didn't state this in the auction description. Dont' be surprised when you see one screw missing.

Re: (smartytai)

Thanks for the heads up about the screw. That's typical for me with logistics - always getting it right except for the last 5 % that forces 2 or 3 trips to the hardware store. I did contact the seller to learn that the pedals are not new.
I bid a max of 51 $ for each, if that gives you any idea...
I'll give you a second opinion once they're in (first opinion from tmtalpey given above).
Cheers everyone

Re: (bassman)

The screws are not going to be easy to find. They're tiny, metric with allen heads and nylox nuts to go behind the pedals. But, you'll figure something out. Just don't worry about an exact replacement.
Tom.

Re: (bassman)

Hey bassman,
I work down in San Jose and use a company called Olander for all of our SS nuts and bolts and other fasteners. You'll have to buy 100 screws and 100 nuts, but it should only cost you maybe a total of $10. Give them a call, they should be able to help you out. They pretty much have any screw imaginable. If you can't work it out over the phone, they are in Sunnyvale. You might be able to swing over and show them what you need.
http://www.olander.com/

Thanks for the contact. I'll see what I'm up against when the pedal kit arrives, then try to get the relevant hardware.

I've gotten stuff from here before cheap and fast:
http://www.boltdepot.com/
Also, if the Evlove pedals are actually the Ultimate pedals I think I have extra screws, nuts, washers and such I could mail you (they are in my toolbox somewhere). Just PM me if you need one.

Re: (tmtalpey)

Still on Heico -
to be sure, are the self-tapping screws of the gas pedal the same as the self-tapping screws of the clutch pedal? The kit indeed did not have all screws, including none for the plastic gas pedal. I'm assuming they're the same, or that it doesn't really matter too much, but inquiring minds wanna know.
Also, did you cut off the backs of these self-tapping screws like the Heico instructions say?
Thanks
Bassman
Re: (bassman)

I think the clutch and accelerator use the same self-tapping screws, but frankly I don't remember. You can download instructions form the Heico site, maybe it has a parts list.
I didn't cut them off.
Tom.
