anyone that has 'em installed: do you have them installed on both sides of the hood for uniformity, or just the one side [left, intake side] for functionality? i've noticed a lot of people here have 'em but you can never see if they have it on the other side from the angles of the pictures

Re: evolve hood grilles (Cicada)

I have the vent on one side just above the OAI. I have seen a few people with them on both sides and it looks good. For me, I did not want to "hack" into the other side of the cars hood. I had a hard time cutting into a perfectly good aluminum hood in the first place. The only benifits I see having the vent on the other side of the car is looks and additional venting of the heat in the engine bay. To each his own I guess. Do what you like. That is all that matters imo. If you want to see a car with them on both sides, do a search under a user here by the name of frankhoffy. He has links right below his signature for those pics.

Re: (Copeland)

I had my custom body shop do the work. Prior to the work being done I had to agree that if there were any small nicks in the hood that I would be the one paying for the new paint. 900.00 I would be out. I agreed because I trust this shop whole heartedly. The install was a pain in the a$$ for the shop. They did a good job. There is one scratch just in front of the vent about 1" long. It is too deep to have buffed out. Because my car is silver, it is not very noticeable. I am happy with the install and I understand things can't be perfect all of the time. I expect that sometimes. Cost should be in the neighborhood of 200.00 for labor. It is a 1 1/2 -2 hour job. I like the final result. I am sure you willl as well. Cheers, Rick

On that note, you can really feel the heat coming out of the vents.

Re: evolve hood grilles (partridge)

I've got the vent - ONE side only.
I had it professionally installed.
The ONLY thing I would like to see someone address..either EVOLVe or a home made solution - is the underside of the hood. I left my under hood insulation on the car...and cut through it so the vent would be somewhat functional...and that insulation stuff is really tacky looking with it being cut into.
a nice grill on the underside of the car would complement the look, especially at a GTG when you have your hood popped and are showing off a nicely painted engine bay

Is the hoods' contour that much different?

Re: (Copeland)

I used a black heat-resistant ducktape. Cut it smooth and laid it neatly over the insulation type material. I am looking into have a stainless piece fabbed to go there. I will keep you guys posted.
