Ok I know alot of R owners in here have the Evolve hood grill.....
I am curious as to a few things......
1.) Did you do R and L or just left for practicality?
2.) Install yourself or professionally done. If so how much? (Trying to get an idea on how much it should run)
3.) What color Evolve hood grill did you get and what color is your bonnet?
TIA
-Copeland
Re: Evolve Hood Grill (Copeland)

The hood grill is essentiall an aesthetic upgrade.
Whether you put it on the left or right side doesn't really matter unless you're hooking it into your airbox. As you can see, Frank did it on both sides for appearance purposes. Functionality aside, location and color are really personal choices. Do you want the bling of chrome or the subtlety of black?
Oh, and I'd have it done professionally unless you're comfortable cutting into your car's sheet metal.
-Eric

Hey Copeland,
1)You saw mine at the GTG.
2)It took the body shop 2 hours to do at 35.00 dollars an hour. It was real easy for them. I would have a professional do it. They have the right tools and it's the hood for god sake. Not good place to screw up on.
3)Silver edge with black grill.

Water issues (Probably been discussed before, but while we're on the subject no reason to do a search) in the rain?

Re: Evolve Hood Grill (JOSBRO)

that would be my #1 concern especially if you are running a CAI. i could just imagine water pouring through that.

Re: Evolve Hood Grill (hayabusa02)

So, my question is...does anyone have the R-Kelly CAI with the hood vent acting functionally? I am curious if the hood vent acts more as a vaccum sucking the air from the CAI out of the airbox and out of the hood entirely. I fear it might, so have been hesitant to make the hood vent functional.

I haven't had any issues. Probably would if the filter was exsposed and the car sitting still, but I'm usually doing Mach 5.

even if you aren't worried about the filter, you should be worried about stagnant water hiding in various pockets of the engine bay.

I have the cover that goes over the top of the filter, and water drains out through holes in the bottom of the box. Also, you can see that the stock airbox is completely gone. Anybody want my stock airbox?
