Not sure whos worse right now Evolve or Atspeed at this point .

Simpley neither of them know a damn thing about volvos thats for sure.

I thought Boosted was up there, Discom (now Blot's car IIRC), and one or two other folks had some nice power.

I still think going w/ the T5 bottom-end w/ the, well, late T5 or R head is the way to go. Maybe sleeves can do the trick for you though??

Angle gear plans?

My buddy's '04 Audi RS6 Plus wagon has 480hp (stock) and it's a hellish ride (UK car, never sold here). Matching that will turn the R into a proper monster, as long as it can keep its drivetrain together. FWD only maybe?

Wich Bottom end the 2.3 2.4 or 2.5 ?
That really is my only concern the rest I have pretty much decided in my head just need to hear one or two others to confirm what I am thinking.

For the time being till he gets enough money FWD only.

Thinking Rebuilding the Angle gear and sleave out of 4140 heattread or harder steel.
Mainly due to I now have a tranny , angle gear and Sleave to use .

But again thats up to matt. Its his money just me helping for the fun of it

You're the man Justin. Is that in your garage now?

I don't think sleeving is necessary on the 2.4 or 2.3 block. From what I have read only the stock 2.5 R block seems to be prone to cylinder wall cracking. If you keep the 2.5 I believe chuck used Darton sleeves.

You already know the weak spots in the 2.3 which are much easier to fix by just replacing rods and such. The 2.3 is bullet proof once the weak spots are addressed.

Any idea how to make an '04R ECU mate with a 2.3 block?

Nah matt lives about 10 mins from me and he has way more cool tools then I do , so going to do all the work at his place.

Agreed my plan and his is to use the 2.3 block - ( I have a few spares)

Now how to get that to work with the newer car is the question and kind of leaving that up to IPD to figure out

I would think you could use the Tune for a Garret thats used on the older cars just done in the newer format.

When you talk to him next time could you get specifics on the coilovers? No 4C might not be so bad if I could drop the R in the weeds with some KWs.
