Re: evolve brakes (pavlie)

Have you worked out how much the import tax and handling charge will be, my pads will probably need changing soon after RAF Marham track day and if it works out cheaper then I'll be interested in saving a few quid.

I'm currently buying all my volvo parts from boston volvo ( have placed 2 orders with them in the last year).. And have worked out I'm saving at least 20% on the UK Price after delivery and customs...
This year I will need to replace all discs and pads, so i'll remember to check the price from IPD. But from reading the forum, the OEM brakes seem to give the best performance for the price..

Re: evolve brakes (russ)

volvo quoted £410 for front, rear and handbrake pads, parts only.
Evolve for the same was £225 including shipping, and the shipping was more expensive than the pads!!!!!!!!!!

£410 for brake pads which stealer do you use, I been getting prices for £100 for fronts and £85 for the rears not inc shoes.
£225 from evolve will be plus tax when they arrive plus any handling charges, probably add another £40-50.
Hopefully the performance pads will be much better than the OEM ones, let us know how they perform when you get them.

Re: evolve brakes (russ)

had to pay £37 import tax, so it was still a good saving

Think of the carbon footprint they have when you stomp on the brake pedal

Re: (pavlie)

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer, i.e. from Volvo or the same vendor that Volvo uses (e.g. Brembo for the brake calipers on the R). IPD is a Portland, Oregon performance Volvo aftermarket specialist for many years, still sell parts including "sway bars" (i.e. anti-roll bars) for 60s and 70s cars as well as the newer ones: http://www.ipdusa.com
Tony.
