Seems like Eurosport Tuning is also offering a similar intake as Evolve/IPD, check it out.

http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/...60-en
Although not the same exact unit as Evolve's/Ipd's, it uses the same design (open box type) but instead with a stock size filter..hmmm

Wow, is there not a single original idea left? LOL. Good on them for not charging $400 for their plastic box.

Interesting. Looks very similar to the design that I was going to do (and still might)... It is NOT another version of the Evolve AMS / IPD iteration of the Evolve AMS.
From what I can tell, this 'airbox' does not seal to the hood and acts very much like a factory airbox with an upgraded reusable filter and open top.

So how exactly does this intake differ from the factory one...aside from a bigger box? ***I'm making a huge fart noise with my mouth right now...in disgust.**

Adam I was gonna say it looks like an open airbox with factory filter,
almost as if we were to just take the cover off of our boxes!

Re: (AthruC)

Well the box does, or supposed to seal around the top. But $300 for a metal box with some filter in stock location is STEEP.. to say the least.

Looks like it would be easy to incorporate a Kelly intake...

so the air just get sucked into that 4inch by 2 inch inlet DIRECTLY to the filter?
doesnt look like much room or air flow. im lost, i guess maybe if it seals right it could prevent the hot air from engine bay but your not getting more air flow are you?
if you look at the IPD or EVOLVE you can see the air flows around and thru the whole filter, this looks like it goes directly into the side of it.

Oh, $300 is def still wayyy too much. Products for the R, regardless of where from, are anal-lubelessly overpriced. Can anybody point to products for the R that are actually worth what they cost. Apart from the HD TCV, i cant think of any. $400 for a plastic box, $1200 for sw tuning, $1000 for a dp. Its all so ridiculous. Its not like anything out there even has a performance payoff either. I can spend $5g, and only get 60hp. So pathetic.

VERY bad design, IMO, and possibly a danger to your engine!!!

Re: Eurosport Tuning joins the intake club... (o2k)

if it cost $0.30 i wouldnt put it on my car.
reminds me of the frigging $350 plastic grille i bought from EST that fell apart within a few months. had to add pounds of silicone to make the mesh stick to the trim.

Well, the intake getting "cold" air is no larger than the stock design but more limiting since it is only feeding air to a small portion of the filter leaving the rest to suck hot air in from the engine compartment. Sure, there is a ram effect in the short term, but once plugged the rest of the filter will be sucking most of the air in from the hot engine compartment. So far I have not seen many "CAI" setups that actually deliver. You're better off with the stock box and Kelly's fog light grill intake, that actually does what it advertises since the stock box is still sealed and not sucking hot air in from the engine compartment.

Re: (adykes)

^^^
Some good points --- though how hard is it to turn the filter every few months if there is a flow advantage to the ram air?
It also looks like it seals to the hood but may also pull from the hood edge. I'm also thinking the Evolve hood grille may work with this.
We'll find out

Re: (Pshrynk)

Save your money...R kelly/IPD intake with a K&N or BMC does the job just fine.

i dont 'see how any of these offer any imptrovement over a stock setup with a kelly cai.
