Hey guys, in speaking with a friend Cullen who has a business sending European parts in from his soon to be former home of Estonia, he asked me what parts would be good that Volvo owners might want. As Volvo tends to make their North American cars very similar to US ones, it was not as easy as I thought to compile a list, so I figured I'd throw it to the experts. Here's what I came up with...
European E-Code Headlights
European Corner Markers
European Sidemarkers (pre 1998)
"T-4" badge from S40/V40 T-4
HID Headlights (S40/V40 SE)
16" Alloy Wheels (S40/V40 SE
Wood Steering Wheel (S40/V40)
Feel free to add to the list...

Do the european models get more choices on the interior pieces? Aluminum, Wood, etc...
Audio equipment? Not sure if there are any differences.

D'oh~! If I knew, I could have bought my E-Code from him. Then again, I was lucky to get some very good deal last time when I bought from Borton....everything for less than $80...or was that for only one side.
How much is Cullen charging? I'm sure there are a lot people here want to get those e-code lenses.

So Borton has ecodes also?
As for interior bits. I think that's available through US dealers. V70Rs had the aluminum trim that'd probably fit any other 70series including the C70 (right Kai?).
There's also the aluminum door sills...

Yeah, they now carry that, too. However, last I heard they jacked up the price when Phill called few days after I placed my order.
Yup, these interior trims will fit all the 70 series (excluding the new V70s of course). Borton also shows on their site the different color trims now...when I was ordering, we didn't know and actually got the gold/bronze color ones the first try. They were nice enough to let me return them w/o any trouble.

quote:
Originally posted by [email protected]:
So Borton has ecodes also?
As for interior bits. Nope, George is right. We can't just order European parts like that. Back in 99, I tried to order the wastegate off the 99 V70R, they thought they could do it, but..part number didn't match yet they still ordered whatever is on the 99 V70R's turbo. So...european part number is just not valid in the US dealer's computer.

quote:
Originally posted by [email protected]:
No, I don't think that it is. Also, I'd like to get components for the OEM Navi. If you can ask Cullen how much that would run, I would greatly appreciate. I'm set on getting Navi in my car.
Oh yeah, OEM trim kits too.
Cullen is monitoring our forums, so I'm sure he can answer that. On the wood steering wheel, I think that's available stateside. They put them in the SE models of the S70/V70/XC models.

I guess I'm wierd, I like the US corner markers with the orange reflectors mainly for safety reasons (somebody approaching from the side with headlights on will presumably see them) and technically they are required according to NHTSA.
That said, I think it's just cool to have something different. The grass is always greener as they say.
