I refinished a set of '98 euro rails and I popped off my existing trim. What I see missing are the nuts that would receive the torx screws that come through the rail to mount to the body.
Is anyone familiar with this setup and can comment?
Are there clips like this that have a threaded portion to allow the torx screws to secure?

You're going to ruin that car with Eurorails?
Can't believe it
If you MUST.....
at least paint them white like the old V90's, at least they looked pretty cool being body colored.

I would prefer a brushed aluminum look but the challenge is getting the right masking done so there is a smooth transition into the A-pilar trim, if the A-pilar remained black. The paint I had mixed up is not a good enough match, a tad too yellow.

You know there IS a sprcific paint code for 2004 Titanium (edi) Euro rails, there's nothing closer to the aluminum look than that color!
If you want to try that and you can't get the color code, let me know...

I think that would actually look amazing. I would never have thought of painting them titanium...

those clips will slide off...either forward or backward (can't remember). I would think the threaded holes for the rails are under them.

I've done this...
That black looking piece of rubberized tape (you'll see four of them... to fore, and two aft... there's one of them in the second picture, lower right side toward the tailgate on your car).
Anyway, peel back that tape and the hole (with thread) is underneath. Make sure when you insert and screw in the bolts that hold down your Euro rails, put a dab of RTV or clear silicone on the bolt toward the section that'll end up on the outside of the hole (not on the tip of the thread, if you know what I mean).
I'm all about painting the rails to match the car... they look so much better that way:

Nick - did you color match the "non-rail" portions of the rail? I can see the silver on the rail and its supports but did you spray the area in between black?

That doesn't matter - I'm still going to dyno & fine tune it also - just because I have to sell it doesn't mean I'm not going to keep on refining it until that day

color is down, now putting on some clear and then the black between the supports.
