Ok, I've got an 04 GT with 106000 on the clock. Just got it back from a really good tech that said aside from the turbo, the internals of the motor are in top notch shape and the tranny is great. The reason I had him go over it was because I plan on doing some upgrades. I know I need to do all of the mounts and braces but here is the good stuff: custom(not a premade) 3" downpipe with race cat, 3" intercooler with mandrel bend 2.5" tubing, Rica tune(with provisions for the extra mods) and finally, a rebuilt and upgraded turbo from Bloush.
Now, with all that said, and staying on the safe side of total motor detonation, what would be best guesses on true wheel horse? And I do have an appointment at a 4wheel dyno to get baselines done.

Re: (kmagnuss)

THe engine might achieve that but because he has a GT, wheel HP will be much much less than that. Torque delete is the way to go for a GT.

Re: (Needsdecaf)

Well, it seems that just about everything that is in Tiger's sig is what I am about to do aside for the Viva Turbo, and that is going to be very similar, tha aquamist system and the light weight pulleys.
I seem to have my answer, although I was hoping for much more than what Tiger is getting. I roughly estimated 450 at the crank with a 15% loss in the driveline giving between 370 to 385 at the wheels.
And the tune will be by Rica and torque limit removed, the dyno is a Dynojet awd and the turbo will be rebuilt and upgraded to the same specs as the turbos used on the Porshe 996 twin after getting them done at Bloush turbo.

Sounds like you bought the wrong car, my friend.
The R aint a Subie, getting 450hp at the crank is basically flirting with disaster all the time. If one little thing isn't optimal, you're going to have expensive repair bills. 450 is probably right at the upper-threshold for this block with stock internals, so, be warned... and good luck

Re: Estimated wheel horse??? (S60R1)

Yes the timing belt was changed along with new top-end gaskets and seals.
So I should be shooting for 400 or just below at the crank?
And your right, it isn't a suby and I would never want it to be. I am only looking for getting the most(safely) that can be gotten for this wonder of a car.

Re: Estimated wheel horse??? (Overun73)

Oh, sorry, about the turbo, he said that the passage bearings were a little over worn. The reason I had him looking at it in the first place was due to oil usage. He said that the bearings(bushings) were worn and that I should have it replaced or rebuilt before it got any worse and the turbo seized all together.

Re: (TurboR850)

More likely right around where OP is looking now. Just under 400, maybe on a good day, good dyno pull, 400. Judging by what I've read around here, anyway, that's more likely. Just do it! If max hp isnt a necessity, do it and find out. I know I'd like to see the results
