Where can I find the engine serial no a 94 850 turbo? The labels are missing from the timing belt cover, so thats no help. I need the serial no to determine timing belt change interval and what part no's to order

Found it. Standing at right fender look to the left and behind timing belt cover just below turbo heat shield is a boss which has engine type and serial no.

When you say "boss" what does that refer to?

It's a extra piece of metal sticking out from block, part of the casting.

The boss is likely dirty and will require cleaning to see the info which is stamped into it.

OHH, same issue as you, no decals left anywhere. Even the service manager at at the local Volvo Dealership couldn't find the engine number.

Apparently for my '94 2.3L Turbo there is 2 different engine numbers which means that simple things like different dipsticks, etc...

It will just be nice to know for sure.
