I was wondering if I have to remove the front bumper, headlights, and radiator/condenser/intercooler before taking the engine out. I plan on taking the engine and tranny out together from the top.

If your hoist is high enough it's possible. Hood can be a problem, but hood removal takes 5 minutes.

Also use weight-distributing load lever to hang the engine, doing like on the pic below can break off the alu ear (the other side is fine, it's steel).

I have removed P2 V70 and S60 engines with out removing bumpers and such. I left the radiator in but tape a sheet of card board to the radiator to protect the radiator core fins. Also, never have removed the hood. Hope this helps.

Follow up question.. is there a good way to disconnect the a/c lines from the condenser? Without leaking Freon everywhere

I remove the power steering pump and alternator from the engine. I unbolt the ac compressor from the block and leave the lines attached. Easier to do it this way.
