Tried searching, but I could not find a similar description of symptoms that my R has. So here it goes. Car is a 2005 S60R MT with 49,XXX miles owned since 35,XXX. Start it up in the morning or after work and let the engine run for 5 minutes or until the rpm's die down. Start driving to get out of my apartment parking lot or work lot (< 1/2 mile driving in both instances) and then when I come to a stop sometimes with the clutch depressed (in first or second) and sometimes in neutral the rpm's sink below 500 and the car feels like it is going to stall for a second and then the rpm's increase back to normal idle. It only does it when it's been sitting for a bit (i.e., overnight or at work all day). This symptom goes away after the car has warmed up. Ideas ?

It could be a result of a dirty MAF.
It's strange that it only happens when the engine is cold.

My 05 does the same thing and exactly as you describe, Clutch depressed coming to a stop or stopped and it drops to well below 500 rpm but it never stalls. And it is only when its cold too.
I think it is the MAF in this case but I am not a fan of cleaning the MAF on this car so I am going to have to wait till it stalls or has a code so I can call the dealer and have them ship one under CPO.

Re: (MacFreak21)

Cleaning the MAF couldn't be easier on this car. Just get yourself a 5 lobe tamper proof torx bit and pull the heated wire element out of the MAF body, spray some MAF cleaner (our heated wires are very beefy, as opposed to other cars, where the wires are very thing) on the wire, wait 2 minutes and reinstall.
In lieu of the torx bit, small vice grips to horse out the screws, then cut a slot in the screw head with a hacksaw so you can use a flathead for reinstallation and removal in the future.
