I know this may be a stupid question, just looking for affirmation. How should I go about removing the dealer emblem that they put on the trunk (opposite the s60 and AWD ones)? Should I use a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive? The emblem is the plastic raised type.
Thanks,

Should be OK, clean with seal and bond remover or some polish afterwards.
I pulled them off without heating, just do it carefully.
To protect the paint use a piece of thick paper or plastic and push it under the sides of the emblem to avoid scratching the paint if you want to use a tool to lift the emblem.

Re: emblem removal (Johann)

it is pretty easy...just use your nails and carefully peel them out or if you don't have any nails use a plastic knife...
Yannis

Or heat up the emblem with a blow dryer and then use some fishing line (or dental floss) and using a sawing motion to cut the adhesive bond.
You'll then need to take the rest of the adhesive off and polish the area.
RJ

Yes, that is the best and easiest way to do it. Be careful not to heat up the emblem too hot, you might damage the paint. In the future, maybe you should ask for advertising fees from your dealer?

I know that it is winter, but since you live in CA, I would suggest just leaving your car out in the sun. This will heat up the entire panel gradually, zero risk of damaging your paint.

Re: emblem removal (Theodore Ruxpin)

All,
Thanks. And yes, I usually tell them to not put it on or pay me a $500 advertising fee. I was replacing a stolen Civic Si and was in a hurry and never thought of it. And Theodore I think it was you who mentioned Ramsey, no I got mine at Garden State in Manasquan. I went all the way down there because they would sell me a leftover 2002 (got it in Oct.) AWD, premium and cold weather for just a hair over $29K. Needless to say I got LoJack on this car.
