I'd just buy the poly-inserts for the original torque mount if you don't have an Elevate mount.

^^ Now that's interesting!

Does anyone have any experience with the poly-insert vs the (black) Elevate mount?

I'm about to pull the trigger on this, as I want to get rid of the "sloppy" feel when stamping the throttle... :p

The Elevate mount will take the slop out with just a little increase in vibration and noise. I certainly would not want it any stiffer for every day use.

Installed the elevate torque mount today (black version). Nice upgrade. There is a little more cabin vibration but as stated earlier, it's mostly felt in the seat butt cushion. My C70 is an automatic. This mount really helped with the launch, the tranny shifts feel crisp and direct.

Like many, my Elevate bushing started to separate. I took some pictures and e-mailed them to Don @ Elevate and he graciously sent me the metal plates and new center piece which come with the new bushings. After installing the upgraded mount, shifting is even smoother than it was before. Everything is a lot more solid; steering wheel vibration and slight cabin noise (at idle) are about the same as they were when the mount was new.

I'm more than pleased with this little upgrade. Before, the torque mount had the ability to move vertically which is why the bushing would start to separate. Now it can only move horizontally. Time will tell how well it holds up, but this seems like a solid fix. I still highly recommend upgrading the torque mounts in our cars, one of the best mods that can be done for so cheap.

Metal plates? Is that something new that they added?

E-focus Rear Motor Mount

So I installed the E-focus torque mount last night.
The Elevate mount was great for about a year (on the old bushing style). Once the old bushing started to separate, Don sent me the new plates to help keep it in place, but the bushing was just getting too much abuse and was too worn out after 30k miles.

The e-focus mount is great so far! Super smooth at idle, no hesitation on a quick start, and has the firm shift feel of a 1 month worn in Elevate mount. Only time will tell how well it holds up though.

I've had my e focus for about 8 months? So far it is the same feel as when I installed it.

So which one would you recommend buying, elevate or the e-focus? Also, can someone link a site where they sell those e-focus tq mounts?

For the price, the e-focus mount is hard to beat. I enjoyed the feel of the Elevate mount more, but its life just wasn't long enough for me. I have no experience with the new bushing design, so I can't speak for that.

This is one of the best deals you'll find for the e-focus mount new: http://www.c-f-m.com/performancepar...-2013-Focus-ST-ST250-95p3691.htm#.U8PADZRdVid

Though, this guy is selling his for $35 and it could be a good deal for somebody: http://www.focusst.org/forum/parts-sale/25579-fs-e-focus-rear-engine-mount.html

Feeling proud this AM - picked up my first performance mod for my new-to-me T5 - the e-Focus mount - yeah!. Local Ford dealer rang it in around $47 and with all CDN taxes = $52.50 in my hands. I am thinking I did pretty well pricewise- can't think of any mod that I have ever purchased for any of my vehicles for that low a price. Finally licensed the vehicle last week, had it serviced to Stage 0 and took it for a 600 mile loop from Vancouver to and around Seattle area for my kid's soccer tourney. Noticed that from park to drive I had a minor clunk which I am assuming is the mount issue. Other than that the car pretty much performed flawlessly. Will likely install this weekend or early next and will update on results.

I also bought the E-focus mount today, but only available @ the Ford dealer. The price was €126 that's about $170, pffff all car parts are so expensive here in Holland...

Installed the Focus Mount over the original yesterday, now my car slightly vibrates whenever I put into gear (R or D) and during stop. I also feel it more on the floor area while accelerating. The car shifts normally but not exactly what I had in mind in terms of vibration and cabin noise. The other two L & R mounts will be here next week. I'll see if that improves, if not I'm putting the Volvo torque mount back in.

I agree, the Focus Mount transmits more vibrations. Oh well we can't win it all... :p

I actually ordered the E-Focus mount last night, $45 dollars was to cheap to pass up... I have the M66 Tranny so I'm interested to see how my shifting is going to feel after I install it .. I have a feeling both my Motor mounts are going to need replacing soon as well so this will probably just exaggerate the loose feeling of those.

Just curious are there upgraded motor mounts available anywhere for our cars?

Hmmmmmm....installed the Ford unit yesterday as well, but not noticing any increase in cabin vibration, just a enhanced crispness in shifting. It did not solve the reverse to drive torque-shift-thunk I have been experiencing, but think that the engine mounts may be the culprit. Will keep replacing stuff until solved I guess.
