You would have to drive a 240 for about two years to equal the energy consumed to build a Prius.
This Light Green Metallic, 1981 244 GL, with Tan cloth interior, has always been garaged. The car is a southern car and has no rust and has never been in a wreck. It has been repainted the original color by a pro body shop, with a DuPont Base/Clear system. It has a new windshield and the seat upholstery has been redone in the original stitching. It has about 288,000 miles on the original 4 cyl. auto drive train. Yes it runs but needs some mechanical work, I'll be glad to go over any details, with anyone who is interested. The car is in the Metro Phoenix area, I am asking $1000 or OBO for the car, pictures can be seen at the links below.
http://www.geocities.com/zipic...7.JPG
http://www.geocities.com/zipic...8.JPG
http://www.geocities.com/zipic...8.JPG
http://www.geocities.com/zipic...0.JPG
http://www.geocities.com/zipic...9.JPG

Modified by zipichewco at 9:12 PM 6-14-2009

Re: ECO (Green) 244 GL, AZ car Excelent Body and Interior (zipichewco)

I am up to my ears in Volvo projects, or I would jump on this one.
If you don't get any 'takers' here, post over on Turbobricks.com, and you should be able to sell this in a matter of days.
BTW: depending on how much 'mechnical work' is needed, $1k seems to be a VERY fair price.
Good luck w/ your sale.

Re: ECO (Taleof2Bricks2)

Thanks for the tip, for awhile I was toying with the idea of transplanting a later model turbo engine into this. And then there are the V8 conversions.
Never seen salt or snow, here is an underbody shot that shows the frame rail and both inside door seams for the driver side.
http://www.geocities.com/zipichewco/1981Volvo/P1000732.JPG

Modified by zipichewco at 8:53 AM 6-28-2009
