I replaced the broken factory HU in my 04 S60R with a Kenwood double din and used the ebay adapter everyone mentions to retain the factory amp.

The problem I'm having is a lot of rpm related feedback which typically can be traced to a bad ground. I've tried a few things and at am a loss.

Note: All connections are soldered and well wrapped in electrical tape

I first tried separating the power wire from the shield/ground wires and tried to keep them segregated from the power wire and RCAs. This didn't improve anything.

I then decided to do a true chassis ground. I linked a wire from the HU cage to the harness ground and then ran another wire to the door one of the bolts in below the a-pillar. Scraped off a bit of paint and thought it'd be good but it, again, made no difference.
