hey guys,
Its pretty obvious that the power gains they claim arent realistic, and many of the parts they offer I dont trust as far as reliability. But some of the parts, throttle body, ignition coil, turbo tubeing, etc. they are the only place to get them. I also think they could be benificial, I mean if its all about air and fuel, and I have a good amount of air, then dont I need more fuel. I dont know what Im really talking about, Im really just wondering what it is about the company that is bad. Are they over priced, not come through with parts, take forever, bad reliability, quality, etc?

I have been wondering the same thing too, because I see its ads running on and off on this site. Maybe it's because of their customer service, delivery issues, maybe? Not sure. I almost bought a turbo kit for my 850 from them but thanks to my fellow SS friends here, they warned me not to do it.

yeah, that makes sense. I can understand not turbocharging a N/A engine for the reasons that were given. Its not the same engine, I would worry about everything from the transmission to the pistons with that. I dont know, my friend is a big muscle car guy. In otherwords he is all about displacement. So with that bigger engine he would say go with bigger throttle body, exhaust, race cat, or rather no cat-thats what he likes, chip, etc. So I dont know what to say there, but yeah, back to my topic. Does anyone know whats up with Eastern Aerospace, are they that bad?

I have never had any personal experience with them but I have heard (and this is only what I heard from others who have used them) that their claims are inflated and the quality of certain parts not the best. But I also know of one customer of ours who loves them to death!
Yannis

I haven't bought from them myself. However, from what I hear from other people, it's that they pay too much for what they get. It says 45HP, but in reality it's closer to 30 or 35 true HP...
Personally I will not buy from a company that is not truthful with their product descriptions.

Maybe some of the old-timers will remember the stupid stuff that EA employee(s) (owner?) would post (read SPAM) to the brickboard aftermarket. I don't feel like explaining everything, but there were times when someone from EA would post about how great this new product was and how everyone should get one. Well, one time it was an outrageously expensive aluminum hood scoop, and another time it was a "gold" plated grille. It was ugly, expensive crap that no one wanted, so people made fun of the stuff. Among the spamming that started it and the arguing/flaming that resulted, no one who read those threads would have any respect for EA as a business. EA dug themselves into a big hole, and look where the word-of-mouth advertising has gotten them.
Without even taking the actual products they sell into consideration, or the claims they make, I would not deal with them. I wouldn't feel comfortable sending them money.

I wouldn't say they are 'bad', HE is more like LAME. Many of the stuff you can purchase elsewhere and probably at much better prices than he can offer. He's more or less trying to offer an one-stop-shop, but didn't work out quite well when he started to overestimate everything he sells.
What made the whole thing worse was that he has never tested the so-called performance packages he was selling. Everything was based on his imagination. It's just kinda scary that you are spending some serious $$$ with a company and it has never done any real life tuning or testing on the stuff he sells. That tells you quite a lot already.
I wouldn't think some of the stuff he has are too unreliable, it's more like are they even useful?
I think he would almost be better off start out a brand new company and does not list any more false claims on the performance gain. Some of the stuff he sells are not THAT lame, but none of them is impressive.
As far as having a banner at every site, including SS...don't be surprised. If he has been milking some good money from the customers, I don't see why he can't afford a banner or two. I don't think any of these sites needs to baby-sit its members by refusing these vendors from advertising.
I say buy their stuff if you are a compulsive shopper, and donate your $$$ to me if you done buying everything from them and have no place to spend the money.

Um, thats messed up. I think I will go with the general concencus and stay away from them. I was looking at the packages, they were claiming output I dont think the engine can handle or do. Like up near 500 horsepower or so. I think the top package was 450, but throw in the NOS system and you will be up there. As is its tough to keep the front wheels planted durring a launch. You guys say they are over priced though, I didnt notice that much. Alot of the generic stuff is way overpriced, but some things werent pad. Just to compare, IPD is a lot more expensive, but I trust IPD. They even come off being more proffessional, and I have done business with them and was always pleased. Thanks for all the responses.

Long story, but you get the point.

That was funny when the guy told everyone what kind of treatment he got over the phone when trying to deal with EA, and then the responses from EA confirmed that the customer is always right!
