Borton has the 'old' 70 series e-code lenses in, but the price has gone up, they are $130 EACH. Dennis says that he's practically making nothing on them, but I'm probably going to wait a bit and see if I really need them.
The stage II HIDS I just got rock, and its so much better than my wannabe Razo's, though they are moved to the high beams.
One note, I don't know how Kai's, Mike's or Larry's were, but does it seem like there is less light in the perfiery. It doesn't look as wide.
Anyway, I also asked about just the clear lens of the new C70. But it so far is only available with the whole housing, and there may be an issue with the lens being 'tuned' for the H11 and not the H7. AND they would be DOT. Though in Europe I guess they are still using the 7, but Dennis said that he can't get them.
<Just read Kai's latest post under the cornerlight thread, so Dennis said he can get the ECE unit?? Maybe just not lenses only???!>

H11 and H7 are technically the same bulb but the H11 as a lower lumen output, hence lasting longer. THhre should not be any tuning involved... As for the beam output... Hmm. Dunno, mine look just like dot except now I have a sharper cutoff.

"Hows the HID install? should you be using them with DOT lenses?? DOT shoots a lot more light upwards instead of more to the front and side like e codes (reason why people who change from DOT to Ecode see things a little brighter)"
That's why I called Dennis, but at $260 , I'm gunna have to wait.
I got them aimed very far down, I was going to find a wall tonight to properly aim them, though I still may go for an extra inch drop. The install was easy except for trying to bend the stupid wire clip to hold the bulb base. The H7 has a little dent, so the wire has a corresponding bend, well the new base is flat, but if you get rid of the bend in the wire, it will be too long to still clip in. I tried to flip it around, but it still needed to be wrangled. Oh and it was pretty exciting when I poped the housing forward and off of this little gyro white prong. I had to take the lens off and push it back on.

Yeah, those little bulb clips were a bitch to bend. I guess it depends on the bulb base and who manufactures it. My old HID kit (K2 kit - Taiwan) fit perfectly with no bending but my autolamps kit (Philips), I had to bend the bulb clips to make them fit.

Yeah, he did tell me after he switched the source, the price has to go up for those ECE lenses for the older type. But they sure will make a difference. Mike thinks they made a lot more than before, I thought they were OK. I think they didn't make a day&night difference, but enough to make you notice the car.
I seriously don't know how they will shine if you just use the MY03 lenses without the new chrome reflectors. But with the new chrome reflectors, you will also have to have that "reflector cap" thingy in front of the bulb to "bounce" the light back to shine on the chrome reflectors. Not sure if I'm making any sense, I just don't know how the whole thing will shine if you just have the lenses only.
I've done enough trial and error, but that is one thing I wouldn't try myself. Just imagine you would have to pay more by purchasing the lenses and housings seperately if you indeed need the "right" combo to make the effort worthwhile.
Taking that into consideration, I never bother asking Dennis if he could just order the MY03 lenses w/o the housings. I know for sure he can get ECE spec MY03 housings for sure, though.

Well, granted that I drive EVERY night for 1 hour, I do believe they make a big difference. But that's in the eye of the beholder, naturally.
As far as getting lenses only with the old housings, that's a BIG NO NO. The housing is designed in conjunction with the lenses and the shield to give out the beam output that it does. Without getting too technical, by getting clear lenses and using the old housings, the optics is completely ruined and you'll end up with garbage. That's why you have that extra bulb shield thingy in the '03 housings. And the curvatures in the reflector housings are different.
