My 2012 T6 XC60 does not seem to want to allow for the dtsc/esc function to turn off..
When I go into the menu and click on the option to turn off DTSC/ESC , it will put a check mark in the box, then uncheck the box about a half second later .. it will not stay checked..

There are no current codes showing .. and I've checked with VIDA to see if there was any not being displayed, but everything looks clear..

the only 2 possibilities I can think that may have caused this -

1 - I had my Sensus software updated .. The update allowed me to update my navigation maps by USB, and updated some functionality (added trip information) .. It also renamed DSTC to ESC

I swapped my DIM to the 2014+ TFT display .. Initial swap of the display and reprogramming with VDASH caused the adaptive cruise control to not work correctly (it would shut off after some time), but a subsequent update fixed the cruise.. maybe this could have affected the DTSC/ESC functionality?

Any thoughts or ideas? anyone ever have this situation occur before? anyone with the TFT swap try turning off the DTSC/ESC function and have it stick (At least until next ignition cycle?)

Thanks

I have the exact same thing happening, also after swapping the DIM and using VDASH. I asked Pavel about it and he hadn't heard of that happening before. Not sure it actually has to do with the DIM swap, but it definitely started happening after I did that.

Are you on the new sensus update that renamed DTSC to ESC or is yours still DTSC in the menus?

okay, so chances are it had nothing to do with the sensus update .. I'll email Pavel and inquire.. hopefully he will respond.. Did you have any issues with your odometer mileage moving over to the new DIM?

Yeah, it didn't take the old mileage (115k) and is still showing the new DIM mileage (34k). Pavel thinks he might have a solution at some point.

Thanks for the info.. My DIM swap also resulted in the mileage not moving over.. basically ended up with a number about half the actual mileage.. So this all sounds related.. I have not swapped the old DIM back over to see if it would recover the mileage, but I have a feeling the mileage is now recorded in the CEM.. not too much of a concern right now unless I decide to sell the vehicle. Hopefully he continues to work on a fix. I’ve sent him a message about the dstc/esc as well

sorry I missed this post ... No I have not heard back from Pavel in regards to the ESC issue ..

Are you in the same boat as rbwinchell and I? with the non functioning esc override and incorrect mileage after dim swap?

Yes, the same issue after my TFT installation. Moreover, my installation was made without VDASH, but by individual specialist. I found your post just googling about inability of ESC OFF.

I guess, this problem has the same reason. :(

PS: this is an issue of Model Year 2012, according to my statistics... My XC60 is also MY12

I Did have an opportunity to talk to vdash the other day and asked about this .. they confirmed that this was a known limitation and unfortunately there was no known way of controlling it at this time ...

If I recall, you could turn DTSC/ESC on/off by scrolling through options on the original DIM .. however the updated TFT unit does not allow for this, you need to go into the MYCAR settings to turn it off.. this may be the source of the incompatibility ...

I am fine with it as it is, as I have not found myself in a situation where I needed to turn it off (knock on wood)..

If not vdash, what method did you use to do your TFT swap? did your method allow for functioning eco/power meters?

In my city there are several enthusiasts and technical Volvo specialists who learned how to connect TFT earlier than VDASH.
I think their methods are exactly the same, because the same functions do not work, including eco / power :)
