Took my car in yesterday to check out the missing speaker issue and got my DRL's disabled as well....Thanks for the SW# Kyle!!<p>I few things I noticed with the DRL's disabled, the home safe lighting no longer activates the headlights but rather just the parking lamps, I can't remember if the twilight sensor activates the headlights anymore but I'll test that out tonight, the radio still switches though. <p>Prices for the DRL work were amazing, especially for Japan. <p>Labor: ~ $23.00 USD<br>Software: ~ $42.00 USD<br>Tax: ~ $3.00 USD<p>I didn't get the windows up function yet, but it looks promising that I will as the dealer was suprised to see the windows go down but no up automatically and no option in the menu to change the up function as all the japanese versions that have this have both. They are researching how to change it while I wait for the speaker and new door panel to come in. I post up either way to let everyone know.

Re: DRL's and Auto Up/Down windows (slrising)

Got my DRLs disabled recently, too. And I thought Japan was an expensive place to live! You got a killer deal on the disabling. Here's my breakdown:<p>Labor: $150.00 (!)<br>Software: $47.25<br>Tax: $4.13<p>I haven't checked the home safe lighting yet, but the twilight sensor seems to affect only the interior dash/radio, etc. lights.<p>It's great being in charge again of when and where the headlights turn on! <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0">

Re: (Vash13)

Vash, You lost me on that one. Home safe lighting, turns on your parking lights, head lights, and the lights below the mirrors (can't remember their name) when you either press the light button on the remote key fob or apparantly your turn signal stock which I didn't know before.

hm... when you say headlights, to be more specific do you mean the city lights? the small bulbs or the low beams.

Re: (Vash13)

I'm talking about low beam headlights to include the parking lights as well both front and rear, which it used to do before my DRL's were disabled and now it only activates the parking lights front and rear.

hm.. that's weird.. my always were the parking lights, city lights, side mirror lights, and license plate lights that were on when i pressed the yellow button. Maybe the newer version you downloaded excludes them. I'm getting mines disabled tomorrow and i'll let you know the results.

Difference between the two is that the US calls them city lights, but in Europe, they are actually called parking lights. Unless, of course, you are referring to the side marker lamps. As far as lighting goes, all lamps are lit when using home safe lighting, to include high beams and fog lights. The only lamp not lit is the rear fog lamp.

Re: DRL's and Auto Up/Down windows (slrising)

I had my DRL disabled too, for free. I requested it right when I took delivery.<p>But yes:<p>Approach light - the yellow button on the remote: Turns on city light/parking lights, puddle light underneath the mirror, license plate and interior light.<p>Home safe light - pulling the turn signal lever toward you (as you would to high beam) when the ignition is at 0 position: Turns on headlights (low beam), parking lights, puddle lights, license plate, except interior light (in which will be turned off when closing / locking the door)<p>Hope that helps <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0"> . It worked the same regardless of DRL disable/enable.

Re: DRL's and Auto Up/Down windows (djeremya)

Sry to dig up an old thread but I recently tried to disable my drls at the dealership...<p>Gave them the code and 1 hr later they said they could not disable them.<br>Technical support also told the dealer that models w/ xenon use halogen bulbs (both bulbs in same housing??) during daytime. Is this b.s.? <p>Just wondering what you or your dealership did as I don't like having 3 switches for my headlights. Thanks <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0">
