I'm bored and just wondering what kind of music/artists/songs are your favorite to listen to while driving. I really like listening to Tool while driving.

Boston works nicely on long road trips. Helps keep me awake....

Don't feel bad, my car has a casette player. Works great to hook up an MP3 player, however.

I'm a Linkin Park listener when I drive. Most of their early stuff. Ususally I let the iPod shuffle though and play whatever is in there.

When getting crazy I turn the music off so I can hear the exhaust symphony!

Re: Driving Music (bpray9223)

Jim Croce always seemed to keep me company on the long empty spaces between cities across country.

"With the snow against my windshield I will drive on through the night, there's no stopping me once I hit the road."

But since I have taken up biking everywhere and I climb a lot of hills, I have taken to loading the smallest of my music players with the heaviest metal I can find. Meshuggah, Opeth, Becoming the Archetype, Pantokrator, Extol...When riding into the wind or up a hill, I don't even feel the burn.

When I visit home though and I can be reunited with my Volvo, it's all folk or classic rock. She likes that best.

Ehh, just chop out a resonator or muffler and you should be good to go.

See then you will need music to override the constant drone

I roll to Electro beats, Marilyn Manson and the best of Bach.

But of course, half the time I just roll the driver's side window down and listen to that turbo spool.

Big mix of stuff, but the most consistent sound on my trips is Creedence Clear Water Revival. On loooooooooong trips, about the time I think I need to pull off and get a room, turn on the extended "Heard it through the Grapevine" and I'm good for another couple hours.

Taking "car" of business, eh?

I think the correct answer is the majority of The Blues Brother's Soundtrack
