I am in the process of making some ABS plastic plates that will fit a set of lights and make it look factory. The area in which I am making the plates will be where the "tow hook" is on the passenger side and the same deal on the drivers side. (Since my car does not have any other decent location for the lamps without getting an R front end.) I am still a way off from having mine done, but this at least may give you an idea. BTW, I plan on using some of the driving lights that look similiar to that of what VW had on the 94-99 jettas. The shape and fit will be close and will need a minimal amout of plastic work to make fit.

Good luck.

Thanks guys....
I live in moose country so the more light the better your chances! But it does not sound very promising. The Volvo headlights are fine but I need distance and width.
Thanks again.

Back on the HID issue, I had another thought. Those Xenon retrofit kits can be made to fit low beams/ high beams and even foglights. When I first heard this, I thought that was a little bit of overkill, but now that I think about it, my main prob with the kit is that I am fearful of blinding other drivers if I install it in my lowebeams. The high beams on the 850 are incredible so Xenons aren't necessary.

However, if I fit them to the foglights successfully, they'd be low enough that they would not blind others, yet make the anemic R foglights functional. They'd also probably fly under the radar of a state inspection. AND if they failed the inspection, the quick fix would be to disconnect them as foglights are not necessary equipment.

George,
I do agree completely! HID in the foglamps would be great. I will have to look into the mod a bit more in-depth. As far as the tow hook goes, I am going to try to leave it in however, if it begins to bother me even a little bit, it's gone! After all, there is a tow ring on the frame not too much further back on the car on the drivers side. (at least that is how mine is.

I'll keep you up to date with the mods as they move along.
