The Races at Qualcomm stadium this friday were absurd. They were so much fun. Unfortuently my best run for an 8th of a mile was 10.455 at 70.64Mph. My car was running poorly though I need to retune my chip because there was too much boost in 1st gear, which caused me around 5000 rmps to ping.... I was a bit showed up by the SS Camereos, and Mustang Cobras that were on the bottle but oh well got mad complememnts on the looks of my car.. There are many races comeing up chekc out www.racelegal.com for upcoming dates.
~SPencer~

Hey Gotballs...
Do you have any pics of your car, I'd like to get a look at it. Looks like you've upgraded the stereo...Are you still using the stock headunit?

Umm still worken on those pics... yeah i know i lag... but ne ways yes i have the stock stereo face, i have been contemplating on if i should switch out the stereo face, but the thing is i put additional wood grain on the car and i think it might look a bit odd with all woodgrain surrouding the face. If i do change it I would prob put a face in and then a dvd flip screen on top of that....
~Spencer~

1/8 mile? I thought that was a Southern US thing. Interesting.
Anyhow, here are some tips to improve your 1/4 mile times:
+ remove door panels
+ remove seats (except driver's seat)+
+ don't fill gas tank all the way (saves even more weight!)
+ leave your 300lbs of r1ceboy subwoofers and amplifiers at home (they don't improve traction)
+ remove power steering pump belt
+ remove A/C pump belt
+ remove fan (unless yours is electrically-actuated)
+ remove carpeting/floor mats
+ remove everything from the trunk
+ wear only a t-shirt, jeans, lightweight shoes, and a helmet - anything else will weigh everything down
+ remove any silly r1cer wings to reduce parasitic drag
And here's some Bonus 1/4 Saver(tm) tips:
+ use two space saver spares for front tires, and disregard the speed rating (unless FWD, then put them on rear)
+ remove doors
+ remove headliner
+ remove hood
+ remove fenders
+ remove all glass
+ remove car battery
+ strip paint from remaining body panels - 2lbs. saved!
+ drain all fluids from the car
+ drain the engine oil and replace with 1qt of Slick 50
+ even though exhaust system is about 2" in diameter, a 19" diameter exhaust tip will add 75HP!
+ put "Type R" stickers on the car (adds 50HP!!)
+ put "Powered by Volvo" sticker across windshield - gain 35HP ("Powered by Honda" will work if you cannot find a Volvo one, and it adds 15 more HP than the Volvo one as well)
+ "NOS" sticker will add an amazing 200HP!
Heheh.. Actually the non Bonus 1/4 Saver tips really do work.
-he who stacks pork

Wow, its a bit late, but yeah... just got back from races hehehehe... Did a bit better than last time. I ran up against 2 new Integra Type R's (Yeah Actual type R's) and i spanked both of them by .4 sec and .6 sec in the 8th mile. Lets put it this way i saw their car in my rear view mirror . Umm also beat a 400+ horse power muscle car, thats right i beat it, well really doesnt count cause he left the hole too early so he wuz d/q but in my mind I still one. Fastest time was 10.375 at 70.98mph.... OOooOO on a side note my boss let me run his 1991 NSX, needless to say it was a bit faster, I beat a vett, but lost to a civic hatch... Yeah it was supercharged and yeah I have never seen a faster hatch...
~SpenceR~
Oh yeah... 300lbs **** boy speakers lol, all your sugestions would prob drop me .1 of a sec and would take hours and hours to do... Thanks for advise but naw thats ok....

Additionally, in the world of top-fuel drag racing, one tenth of a second is a long time.
Back in 1996 I dragged my 1963 122S (“SS”) at the Thursday night drags at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, CA. Hadn’t ever done it at a racetrack before, but had plenty of “training” in the streets in the San Jose area. Anyhow, thanks to the countless thousands invested into everything (around $20,000 USD to date!) I hit the 1320 mark in 14.71 @ 95.5 MPH. Not too shabby for a 39 year old car! Of course, the pushrod B18 (bored out to B20 specs, more details can be found in this threadand also details what my car is currently having done by a fabrication shop) puts out 172HP at the flywheel, according to the shop that dynoed it back in 1991. IPD is partly to thank for that, along with the engine shop who told me the engine would only last 60,000 miles (odometer is almost at 120,000 currently!). The car is actually set up for autocrossing though, and when I drive it, I’m regularly tripling the posted speed “suggestion” signs on freeway onramps and offramps. Yes, 2,360lb. car with 172HP at the flywheel coupled with 4.56:1 rearend gears can get you places in a hurry.
-he who stacks pork
