If this has already been discussed (and I'm sure it has), my apologies in advance. Neither search yielded me the feedback I am looking for.

I'm looking for R owner feedback, on downpipes from TME vs IPD. I know both make a quality product, but has anyone ever laid each side by side and compared? I'm interested in feedback on weld quality, metals used, construction, and experiences on fit and installation.

Here's what I have on the TME DP

Downpipe
Main pipe material = 304 Stainless steel
Inlet diameter = 76.2 mm (3 inch)
Main pipe diameter = 76.2 mm (3 inch) and 70 mm (2-3/4 inch) after cat
Kemira Metal cat (2 platinum coated stainless steel monoliths)

Maybe someone can chime in on the IPD DP

I don't have a DP but TME's exhaust is built extremely well! A very quality item.

The CAT is different, smaller on the IPD DP.

any particular reason you didn't get the TME DP? anything I should be considering in regards to putting TME DP on?

I have the IPD DP and even the shop I went to remarked at the quality of the part.

The biggest things about these products are the cat and the size of the pipe, which is 3" for both. The rest of the differences are minor.

I recall reading somewhere that TME did some R&D on their design
and discovered that Volvo's factory catalytic converter flowed better
than many of the aftermarket "race cats" they tested,
except for one.

I don't think IPD has any connection with TME anymore.
