Your car will latch up a check engine condition within minutes of running without a cat. The engine control will go open-loop, or maybe even limp-home mode. It will run like [email protected] and you'll wonder why you bothered.

Just try that with the Bosch ME9 engine control in our car. Even if it worked, the best you can hope for is no loss. So...
