2012 S60, t5...shows rt rear door open, but it's closed..locks and unlocks.....
I've read other posts on here concerning this. no specific answer....except replace the lock...did read about a plastic green pin inside the lock that wears...but this is a new lock basically...
The door lock recall was done a little over a year ago.....so...

Any solution besides replacing lock?
Should volvo cover replacement since the lock is basically new?

update..so the door does not lock at all whether using the fob or door lock switch......

Had that issue with the trunk door on mine, there was a grounding on the plug that connects to the lock so I just used electrical tape o it and no mo issues, maybe something like that could be happening to you, and a quick inspection might solve it.

Can’t hurt to talk to the dealer who did the recall… worst they can do is say “your problem, not ours”

Open the driver's front door and wiggle the harness where it goes from the body to the door and see if anything changes. Could be a broken wire in there. Easy to remove the door for better access to repair if needed.

I would wiggle the harness to the driver's front door. That is the only door I've ever seen a broken wire, since that is obviously most used. Depending on what wire is broken or shorted, it can cause different symptoms.
