True to form, the driver's side door is making an awful creaking noise when you open, and close, it. I went about making sure that the bolts for the door check were properly tightened, and yet the noise persisted. My mechanic has offered to replace the door check, with me lending a helping hand, but I would like to gather as much information as possible about the job before we dive into it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated......Thanks

If you already have a subscription, that sounds like the ticket. I know the pins are a bit a of a nuisance, then you just disconnect the electrical connector and lift up, if I recall correctly. Just that the door is really heavy and it's good to have 2 people so you don't drop it and dent/scratch it....or drop it on your toes.

Re: Door check installation........ (1sciroccofahrer)

Ozbricks has a couple of good posts on how to do it, pictures and all, if it's just the check thats packed it in and needs replacing it's pretty easy, but if the weld has let go thats a whole other story.

Re: Door check installation........ (cocka)

Thanks for the help! MadeinJapan sent me a link as how to address the problem, and either later this week, or first thing next week, my mechanic and I are going to have a go at it. Have a wonderful Wednesday one and all

Re: (MadeInJapan)

Will do MadeinJapan! Tomorrow afternoon my mechanic and I are going to go over the directions, and have a look at the door, and plan our strategy. Then either Friday afternoon, or Tuesday afternoon, we will get to work, and I will make sure to take as many photos as possible, and post them on the board. Have a splendid evening
