Been thinking of getting one, especially as we're going to a place in a month where it'll be 100 degrees during the day.
Volvo doesn't seem to make any for the car, so nothing made to measure.
I measured the windshield and found it's around 28 inches high pretty much everywhere, but 50 inches at the top and 56 inches at the bottom. One that I bought today was 26 inches by 60, so too short it seemed for height, and I couldn't get it to fit properly width wise.
Any tips where to look?
I got one of these types:

But I wonder if one of these would fit better?

Re: Does anyone here use a windshield sunshade? (Lotus99)

I use the second type that you have there - the 2 separate shades. I was able to use the old ones from my 850 with my new 09 V70. I recommend that you get some with a reflective side - those have always worked the best for me. Good luck!

Re: Does anyone here use a windshield sunshade? (robreed55)

Thanks, good to know. I ended up finding a custom one online:
http://www.trademotion.com/par...97648
Just have to decide if it's worth me paying $25 to have it shipped here! LOL!
I might go for the two separate ones, or try to cut a bigger one and see how that goes.

Lotus, I have the two speparate piece variety, it works well and was 25% of the cost of custom one you're considering. Unlike the accordion variety, tt folds to roughly the size of a frisbee.
The reflective material makes a big difference.

I got one from Canadian Tire that is of the first type, the largest one they had. the back says suitable for V70 02 model year. It's too long, but the width is fine, so I don't unfold it completely.

Re: Does anyone here use a windshield sunshade? (rovermark)

Update: I measured the windshield, and it's approx. 28 inches high, but it's 50 inches wide at the top and 56 inches wide at the bottom, so a bit of an awkward size.
I tried a couple of the one piece ones, but one was way too wide (27" by 67"), even though it was technically the right size for this car according to their chart, and even if I didn't unfold it completely, I couldn't get it to fit properly. The middle part of it has a cutout for the rearview mirror, and it would never line up properly.
So I tried the next size down, which was the right width more or less, but was not tall enough (24" x 58").
So next I tried the two piece ones, and to my surprise, they fit almost perfectly! Each piece is 28" by 31". Less than 5% of the windshield I'd say is not covered, and they stick to the windshield way better than the one piece ones which had inches of space between it and the windshield in certain parts. I don't even have to fold down the visors to keep them up.
Only gripe with them is that it's a bit tricky and a pain to fold them up with the funky twisting motion, one I can see my wife will complain about for sure, and that it's a foil type material, so I wonder if the constant folding will eventually cause a tear in it. They only cost me $15.
I'd have loved to get the custom ones, but they'll run me like $45 CDN by the time I get them, even if a friend in the US picks them up for me. Maybe I'll get them at one point, since it's probably a good investment.
