http://www.TurboByGarrett.com for your turbo.
http://www.southfloridaperformance.com used to be great for manifolds. not sure if they went under or whether their site changed.
also try lovefab.com.
good luck
EDIT: aparently garrett.com is no longer turbos either, wtf.

Re: (phuz)

it would appear as if Honeywell bought Garrett but the company...er...subsidiary still does the same thing as they always have. Make good turbos!
As a side note, who is one of the better IC Core makers out there? Just thinking ahead for when the bumper comes off and I can get a full measurement
Just saw that they have a pretty good explaination of how a turbo works and all the additional items like BOV, Wastegate, etc... and where they need to go in the system to work properly. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/...101_1

Re: (POWERSTROKE)

pirate from FocusSToc.com
Take a stock ST and a bolton a induction system . What now happens is the following .The new airbox has lowered the "negative boost" This is easily explained by taking a thin tube and sucking on it and then taking a thicker tube and sucking on it. the thicker one allows more volume. Now what this does it alows more air to the turbo increasing slightly its efficiency . The boost is controlled by a boostmap which controls the bleedvalve to the actuator. This valve gets sent a frequency and duration signal which pulses it as a duty cycle. Lets say that 30 % equites to about 0,6 bar and 15% 1,2 bar of boost. So this is fixed. Now with the improved airflow over stock the car will tend to boost slightly higher and hold the boost longer as it follows the boostmap. This increase in boost gives you the up to 18 hp that GGR quotes.
The same happens with the exhaust , its just less back pressure with a big bore downpipe , exhaust which will raise the airflow trough the turbo and give you about 15 hp gain on a stock car.
The gained hp is from the slight raising of boost. Now this does not mean that if you add a exhaust and a airbox you can add the power gains. You will not get 18 hp(airbox) +15 hp(zorst).
Now with a chip (superchips etc) you negate a lot of those gains. I found that adding the airbox gave a much better throttle response and a net gain of 6hp atw. The exhaust gave a gain of 7 hp atw That was a total gain of 16 odd hp at the FLywheel.
The turbo is really designed for spooling low end . The exhaust wheel has 12 blades which is good for spooling and bad for power. The new VXR opel comes with the same size wheel but with 9 blades and agressive cut to let out more exhaust pressure hence more power however they use more boost due only having 2.0l capacity.
The standard exhaust housing one piece casting has the second smallest housing i have ever seen only to be beaten by the twinscroll housing of the Renault Megane Sport 2.0 T.
The turbo can not produce any more power at 0,6 bar at the top of the rev range. Any more boost creates heat on the intake side and pressure in the exhaust housing .
Going to a 9 blade design with a 7 deg cut back wheel will yeild 30 hp more. Changing ther turbo is the only viable way of getting more hp but does the motor and gearbox , block let itself to that ?
The biggest problem on the ST is that dam small scroll on that turbo
Bluefin and others up the midrange boost pressure to 1,2 bar and at about 5100 rpm slowly brings it back to 0,6 bar at about 6000 rpm.
I should also note the Mazda3 263 bhp runs a K04 and the new Audi 260 bhp runs a K04 and the new Sky 260 bhp runs a K04, one would assume that these turbos have a whole lot more head run then the 170 to 180 bhp 1.8T VW engines with kO4s.
