From reading some prior posts, it seems there have been some generic ones installed?? I wish IPD and Evolve and other tuners would focus on this. I think this is probably the one biggest drawback on the R. I had a turbo eclipse prior to the R and there was not that much of a difference between driving in hot and cooler temps as in the R. I decided to upgrade the intercooler on that, man, the car turned into a beast. My guess is that upgrading the intercooler on the R would also dramatically improve the performance of the R, expecially in the hot days.

Re: Does any company make a direct replacement for the R intercooler?? (R Crazy)

I believe IPD sells a kit, or used to sell one by TME/MTE...was a FMIC with neccessary piping for about $2500 give or take a few....There was a post about them having 1 or 2 kits left....check out the archives in search.

It will be about $1,000 cheaper to have a local tuner do a custom job. I would go with the Aquamist ($525.00 currently) before a true FMIC; unless your dead set on it then go for it, make several copies of the piping and bends used and sell them to all of the eager Swedespeed members! In the near future I imagine there will be a company that will produce a FMIC kit but that will probably be closer till Christmas. As it heats up again so will the demand for this item.

I'd be interested in a quality intercooler option. The difference in power between driving around in 92-degrees during the day at 80-degrees at night is severely noticable. I can't wait till winter...

You're 21 and have one darn nice car, you should be broke so don't get me started on what I had a 21
I'm sure it's hot year'round where you live but I'm sure it cools off a bit late in the year. Starting this month put away $52.50 each month until April. In early April start another Auqamist GB and by May you'll be running cool just in time to beat the summer heat
LTA
