The Piping that goes over the engine from the turbo to the front of my 2003 2.4t goes into the front then on the other side a pipe goes to the intake manifold. Is there an intercooler or does the pipe just continue through the front to the other side? Thanks!

Not all turbocharged cars have intercoolers but all turbo Volvos since the mid 1980's sold in the US have intercoolers.
Fairly certain he meant pertaining to Volvo Turbo cars.

Also a majority of factory equipped turbo cars come with intercoolers. Very rarely will they not come with one. I can only think of maybe 10-15 cars/trucks that were factory turbo without an intercooler.

great thanks for the help! Also is there more bolts than just the ones on the top of the plate that sits above the intercooler and radiator? I tried taking it off and something else was holding it on.
