I have a 2005 XC90 T6 with, what sounds like, the common "Brake Failure - Stop Safely" light on. Vehicle seems to run and stop well, but, thinking I need to get this check engine light/warning resolved before I can renew my inspection sticker.

So, if I purchase a new BCM (I tried repair current one to no avail - bent over all the legs of proms on circuit board to ensure contact...), will I need to have it programmed to the vehicle? When I did a similar repair to my BMW 740iL I had to have the new ABS module coded to the car...

Thank you,
