Josh, just get you another one man...that's a lot of hassle for a jerry-rigged bar. I'd advertise on here, VS, Matthews and brickboard for a good used one, or if you have the funds, get the newest IPD version. Were they not willing to make some kind of deal to help you after all? If I still had my S70 T-5's original bar I'd just send it to you but someone snatched the set up pretty quickly after I no longer needed it.

boy i agree, no weld will hold on that corrosion and the geometry will be off anyway.
scott hart, that is who i would call and tell him it finally did break, and, could he help out? please.
my bet is he will, and you will have a much better car for it.

He's been through this with IPD and since he's not the original owner, evidently they won't replace it, but I thought they came to some kind of compromise. See here: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=60249

I don't think that will ever happen now...which is fine with me. I made the bed, now I'll lie in it.
Anyways, thanks for the comments...

Re: (lax01)

really... u should just go and get the rear bars new.. i'm sure they would be willing to sell u just the rear bar. and it can't be more than the half the price of a full kit... less than 200 prolly.. all that rust will just bring u more headaches down the road. if u can spend 50 bucks on a catch can, u can spare some for the rear bar

Re: (steve s)

heh...I'd rather not waste $200 on a new bar...I'm thinking I'm just going to pick one up new
and as for the Catchcan...its off my car...haven't been running it for at least half a year now...too much pressure

FWIW I got a rear sway bar + mounting hardware for a 98 S70 from IPD for $168 earlier this year.

Definately look into getting that replaced and not welded. You need clean metal to weld and that is far from, like mentioned earlier it will just cause more problems.
