The front bar could be mounted a few inches back. However, you do not want to have them both too far back (so, they will still block the sunroof) as any heavier load would not be balanced well, in relation to the car.

Thanks... I think I'll get a hitch-mount rack for the bikes instead.

Not to mention that at certain points, they can cause wind buffeting against the sunroof causing it to rattle.

I have one and whenever I have an XC60 as a company car I use it a lot. it works great and with minimal effort on my part.

I recently traded my V60 for an XC60 (loved the V but it was just too small). Does anyone know if the roof rack is a different part? I bought my V60 with a roof rack but might like to use it with the XC.
