Press the DSTC button five times with a brief pause inbetween. The last message should say "DSTC off".

The key is to look at the display while pushing the button. You must see the display change to know each "push" worked.

Not sure where you are running but I ran out at GIR the second weekend of June. Not a bad track but it is tiny. I ran with the DTSC off the first run, and then forgot to turn it off the rest of the runs. I did notice the difference a few times, especially thru 7 (hairpin). I don't think it really slowed me up though since I was still the 2nd fastest car out there.

When I go to the track, I alternate between disabling and activating the DSTC. It's interesting to see how differently the car performs through each turn. I don't feel that activating the DSTC slows the car at all. Its fun to mix it up - but not while driving. You'd have to have tons of coordination to drive, shift and push that stupid button 5 times!

If you drive it hard on the track, beware of leaving DSTC on. In understeer conditions, DSTC activates the inboard rear brake like a rudder to help you get through the turn. Given the R's understeering nature, this can mean hot rear brakes.
Tom.
