Fairly sure there’s a software load required, which would need to be done at the dealership anyway.
No software is required.

Has anyone done a retrofit to replace the standard rearview mirror to the new digital mirror. Did you have the dealer do it or do it yourself? If yourself, where did you find the instructions to do it? I have not seen any good videos to do this. Do you have any pictures of the camera on the back of the car? Thanks.
I have 3 kits for our 3 cars sitting in the garage. It has been way too hot here to attempt the installation but once I'm ready I can take a video. That said, this is about 2-3 hours of work per car. I don't think anybody is going to take a video. And it's too new of an accessory to likely find someone who already has done it.

You can see the camera in this picture.

I stand corrected… and surprised!!
Other markets may require a software download to enable HomeLink functionality if the car isn't equipped, but the mirror itself is plug-and-play and powers the camera.

So the camera is affixed to the rear hatch back glass?
Yes.

How is it at night!? Is there a lot of glare?
I have limited experience with it in a loan car. There is not a lot of glare. The camera and software process it pretty well. It also decreases the frame rate at night for a much clearer picture than a regular reflective mirror. Polestar is using similar tech in their upcoming Polestar 4 which has no rear window.
