I've been running the digital jukebox in my 05 S60R and I am truly impressed with the overall sound quality and functionality of the unit in relation to how it works with my HU-850 head unit. I am however, getting tired of hearing engine noise through the speakers during playback. It seems worse sometimes and sometimes it's not so bad.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?

Don't know too much about this digital jukebox option but I've had good experience with eliminating noise with either a ground loop isolator or one of these http://www.installer-data.com/...pdf10

Hi,

You may want to take a look at my post on using a VW Phatbox as an equivalent to the Volvo Jukebox. They are basically similar hardware.

I had a noise problem, which I put down to probable hardware differences between Volvo and VW boxes. I know that the Volvo installation instructions are very specific regarding grounding of power cables and isolatong the casing of the jukebox from its mounting hardware.

In my case I made up an adaptor cable with a ground loop isolator wired to an 8-pin DIN plug and socket. My post has a detailed diagram of this. I think it may well solve your problem completely.

I installed my Digital Jukebox in my 05 D5 and don't experience this at all. Did you install yourself? I seem to remember there was a pretty meaty ground cable and the instructions were fairly precise on where it should be screwed to. If memory serves, it goes on with an existing ground cable under the trim in the boot... sorry... trunk!!

I 'm glad to see I'm not the onlyone with problems here !

Mine does the same thing ... the more volume you put on the more you here the engine throw the speakers ... but only when in drive !!! If I put the car in neutral it stops ! ( manual box ) .
My S60R has been twice to the dealer ... first the replaced the hole wire system ; last time the even put in a brand new alternator ... and I STILL HAVE THE NOISE PROBLEM .

I 'm going MAD because now I can hear the turbo comming on as well .
