the diff cover on my 89 is slowly giving into road salt. I have looked in the normal places but can not seem to locate anyone that sells them. Any ideas>?

Re: diff cover needed (gdill2)

George, don't have it in front of me. Are they that different? I was just trying to see if anyone knew of any place that sold them.
It's an 89 244 Automatic. It does NOT have the limited slip.

if only. I have been saving parts cars in maine for awhile now. There are certainly plenty of them around. Just don't have the room (don't have the room for this one)

Re: diff cover needed (gdill2)

yes, called my usual yards, they all say the same thing, they are in slow but steady demand and no one is willing to sell the cover off a good rear end.
Even called the "volvo" guy in central maine and he said the same thing, he pulls the ones that he gets in good shape and uses them himself.
First time I have had this problem, if I had know it was common I would have grabbed the oness off my previous cars before I sent them to the crusher (all died of rust) although with the decent number of cars still on the road up hear in the northeast and the salt used on the roads I would imagine good ones are scarce.
