Despite the fact that Ford mentioned the S80 and the S60 in their press release, these Volvos hardly made a showing in the movie. I caught it last night, and while it's pretty cool for a Bond flick, I was disappointed at the Volvo content. I spotted a couple of them parked in one scene in Iceland. That was it.

There were plenty of shots of the Aston and the Jag. The T-bird was around, and there were numerous scenes with the new Range Rover and Jags sitting in the background.....but not a lot of love for Volvo.

There was an S80 in the movie? I saw an S60 in the parking lot but that was it. Very big let down.

Sad... http://********************/smile/emsad.gif and Volvo is the only company in PAG that makes Ford some decent money while the others are disappointments.

Perhaps that is why they felt they wanted so much screen time for the underperformers.

I believe there was one of each in that parking lot, and we were probably scanning different sides. It was SUCH a short shot.

I was expecting at least a cameo like Ronin though. Oh well.

BTW, nice Vintage Volvo scenes in Bull Durham (on TV yesterday).

Now that would be nice http://********************/smile/emsmile.gif I too was disapointed by the almost total lack of Volvos... I think there may have been one driving in the background of one of the parking lot shots, but I didn't get a very good look, so I might be wrong. At least it was a decent movie though. Certainly better than the last few Bonds.

Hopefully by then the next S40/V50 will be out and Volvo can capitalize on the timing of those with the movie. It would be sweet to see...

Don't know if you guys saw it or not but my date and I went to watch Treasure Planet this past Wednsday, after that it was still early so we went to watch the James Bond and were lucky enough to catch the previews. There was a commercial for the XC90, oddly enough Donald Sutherland was not the voice over in the commercial. Just an interesting fun fact.

There was a Volvo in this movie? In my opinion this is the worst Bond movie ever. Total garbage.

I also think Peirce Bronsin or whatever his name is has kind of killed the James Bond character. Why wasn't Connery or Moore a smug **** who is rude and still ends up sleeping with girl? Wait they were way more swav and charming for a spy, Peirce is dryer than his martini. At least the cars are cool still, but I hope the next Bond star is more like the classic Bonds whom we all love to watch and take notes on great pick up lines, the new Bond would get slapped pretty fast, at least if us normal non-secret agents tried it his way.... for now I think Austin Powers is the spy of the decade http://********************/smile/emwink.gif

Only trouble, if they wait too long, he'll be old enough that he won't be able to do that many movies...ala Brosnan.

I had heard this would be Brosnan's last Bond movie. Now I'm not so sure.

I saw him being interviewed and he said that he will make ONE MORE 007 movie and that will be it.

Yeah, his contract was for 4 movies and he signed on to do one more. He was suppose to do the Timothy Dalton movies but was doing Remmington Steel instead. I read in Reader's Digest that he doesn't like movies as much because it's not "a sure thing" like a t.v. series is.

i remember in one scene in the parking lot there was on s60--i didn't even see the s80. I read this post before i watched the movie and i had my eyes peeled and I still missed the S80.

actually--the s60 could have been an 80 because the camera pan was so quick.
