As I was coming across the I-90 floating bridge I saw a trooper just about to pull over a S60R (black or magic blue) heading East in the express lanes. I feel for you! Hopefully it wasn't someone here.

Re: Did you get a speeding ticket today? (flybynight)

Phew... glad it wasn't me!!! With your thirst for high octane, I'm surprised it wasn't you getting pulled over.
That is a very fun stretch of road when there is little to no traffic, especially the floating bridge portion and tunnel to the west. I've noticed that this is also a favorite of the Microsofties in their exotics. Last week I was passed by two ultra-bright yellow Ferrari's racing each other (or trying to kill each other) - they had to be doing at least 150...
- Tryg

One thing I don't do is let myself get caught up in racing. Just last night going back to Sammamish across the floating bridge some guy in an M3 wanted to play a little. Well, I have my wife and 5 year old in the car, I wasn't even going to think about doing anything foolish. Frankly, even if it was just me I wouldn't have gone for it. Too risky. Racing could lead to arrest. I don't need that.

It used to be that a radar detector would just about always save your butt. Sadly, those days are long gone. Nowadays it helps, but that is about it. I actually have the Passport 8500 (with the red display, I wasn't going to pay extra for the blue!).

Re: (kenschel)

In VA they are illegal. I would like to have one just for the fun of it, but I know they are not full-proof. Plus, I can't convince the boss/wife the need to fork up $400 on something that is illegal. So, in VA I have to live by these 3 rules on the interstate:
1) Never be the leader of the pack.
2) Don't stay in the left lane.
3) Always lay off the gas at the median crossovers.
Plus, I think not having a radar detector keeps me on my toes even more.

That's why you invest in a Lidatek. Knock on wood...I've yet to get pulled over and the detector has gone off a couple of times with Smokey a few thousand feet up the road.
I have heard they are illegal in B.C. as well.
