As I was coming across the I-90 floating bridge I saw a trooper just about to pull over a S60R (black or magic blue) heading East in the express lanes. I feel for you! Hopefully it wasn't someone here.

Re: Did you get a speeding ticket today? (flybynight)

Phew... glad it wasn't me!!! With your thirst for high octane, I'm surprised it wasn't you getting pulled over.

That is a very fun stretch of road when there is little to no traffic, especially the floating bridge portion and tunnel to the west. I've noticed that this is also a favorite of the Microsofties in their exotics. Last week I was passed by two ultra-bright yellow Ferrari's racing each other (or trying to kill each other) - they had to be doing at least 150...

I try to be good

Not easy though. One thing I don't do is let myself get caught up in racing. Just last night going back to Sammamish across the floating bridge some guy in an M3 wanted to play a little. Well, I have my wife and 5 year old in the car, I wasn't even going to think about doing anything foolish. Frankly, even if it was just me I wouldn't have gone for it. Too risky. Racing could lead to arrest. I don't need that.

It used to be that a radar detector would just about always save your butt. Sadly, those days are long gone. Nowadays it helps, but that is about it. I actually have the Passport 8500 (with the red display, I wasn't going to pay extra for the blue!).

Re: (kenschel)

In VA they are illegal.
I would like to have one just for the fun of it, but I know they are not full-proof. Plus, I can't convince the boss/wife the need to fork up $400 on something that is illegal. So, in VA I have to live by these 3 rules on the interstate:

1) Never be the leader of the pack.
2) Don't stay in the left lane.
3) Always lay off the gas at the median crossovers.

Plus, I think not having a radar detector keeps me on my toes even more.

Mine was on 128 - he was driving one of those un-marked Dodge Intrepid's.

That's why you invest in a Lidatek. Knock on wood...I've yet to get pulled over and the detector has gone off a couple of times with Smokey a few thousand feet up the road.

I have heard they are illegal in B.C. as well.

The best, actually. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Well, except for K40. But that's a wee bit more $$

Actually. I have the Bel RX65. That's suppose to be the best on the market

I have a couple of detectors that I got for X-Mas...don't know why
...but I got the Bel after reading all the reviews. I even traveled with 2 at the same time to see what's better. But the Bell gets the job done miles ahead of the others, and even finds the CHP's when their hiding in the ditches.

my thought if one get pulled over what would CHP do when he spot multiple radars? that would be a classic for sure.

I don't care what the tests say, until another detector comes out with the threat count and directional arrows, the V1 is tops. Once you use them, you'll never know how you lived without them.
