So yesterday I fire up my VIDA/DICE to run a SUM calibration after messing with the suspension.

On startup, VIDA claims my DICE unit has old firmware 5.6.1 and I should load 5.6.2. Ignoring the message would not allow my DICE to communicate with the car. So I went to load 5.6.2 off the file in my laptop. It identifies the DICE unit and then says "erasing 1/6 memory sectors" (or something like that). The USB light is flashing both green and red. Then it says "unable to erase memory" (or something like that).

Now the USB light is simply red. VIDA can recognize the hardware and bootloader versions but firmware says 0.0.0. When I go to load 5.6.2 it says "comparing firmware versions" and then bombs out.

Any ideas? DICE unit is in very good condition and is Volvo unit.

Thanks.

If you did this in Vida, you might want to try the standalone upgrade application. Preferably in XP.
Last resort is taking it apart and using something like M16C-flasher.
