I am trying to figure out what the violet wire on pin 1 on the ICM connector does.
Product Black Rectangle Font Line

According to the wiring diagram, this is most likely a fused 12V voltage source. Digging some more through the wiring diagram, the wire is described as "Extended D-feed"
Font Rectangle Parallel Number Circle

What does that mean? What does the D stand for? What is being extended? What is being fed? We will never know...

What I am interested in knowing is if this is a regulated voltage source or if it is straight from the battery but with an inline fuse (F5).
I want to relocate the ICM and I want to know if I can take any 12V line to power it, which can in fact be anywhere between 9V and 14V and can experience transients and surges, or if it has to be a stable, regulated 12V.

EXT. D = Extended electrical distribution. 53/454 powers up other modules that are not installed on all car markets.
XC90 and other Volvo's are prewired using 53/454 for different options. Pull up the wiring diagram, search for 53/454. It will list each page the 53/453 is used. You can supply ICM pin A1 with any 12 volt source. Below are different wiring diagrams using 54/454. RTI is not used in the US Market. Rear Entertainment is a dealer installed option.

Thanks for the explanations and the pinout.
Where did you get the pinout / signal information from? I can't seem to find that page in the wiring documents I'm finding online. Is it from VIDA?

Thanks for the details.
I already have a copy of VIDA up and running. Every car owner should have the possibility to own the OE diagnostics tool for his vehicle, in my opinion.
I just did not know that I had to look the up the pinout on VIDA. I thought that's what the wiring diagrams were for.

Thanks again for the info.
