We hit a deer last night at about 40 mph
Outside damage looks minor but there appear to be some cracks apparent under the hood on fender area structural components.
See attached.
Do you all think this is repairable.

Love the car and near impossible to find one like it. White with beige and every option.

also if anyone has a low mileage T8 in this exact color combo with bowers and Wilkins air suspension and lounge package let me know.

If you get a chance, watch Mat Armstrong videos on youtube....ANYTHING is repairable! But at what cost? Honestly from the pics, it doesn't look too bad. Those sections that you took a pic of come off easily and is not part of the frame (which would still be repairable, but again at what cost). I highly doubt that they would total the car based on the pics shown. It doesn't even look like the airbag went off! Good luck either way. But to me, it appears you dodged a bullet.

Saving grace will be the value of your car, so I vote not totaled. Gonna be expensive though depending on what was damaged…our car had $22k in repairs even though the damage wasn’t that significant and no airbags deployed. Of that repair, over $7k was just for new headlights ($3100 each plus install and calibration).

edit…here’s the thread

Pretty sure that passenger headlight is cooked. It doesn’t take much to break the tabs off, and I’d be shocked if that passenger headlight made it thru. Can’t tell if impact had any effect on the other side. Point was if deemed repairable, won’t get totaled because car should still be worth at least $40k.

@T8ultimate I presume if you can afford a 2023 Volvo XC90 Ultimate, you have car insurance. What is their preliminary estimate for repair? Airbags didn't deploy, so that's in your favor. Whether or not there's frame damage is hard to determine without a mechanic giving the vehicle a full inspection.

Several years ago, my dashcam caught an older driver (70s) hitting a deer. Sent him swerving into the opposite lane. Apparently, deer didn't die and police went back to shoot it (according to a later conversation with driver). I offered him video but I he never ended up needing it for insurance claim.

I'm not sure if deer was already injured flopping around on the road, but I also had to swerve to miss it, too. I had deer bits all over my car that day.
