Hey guys, so i put on the timing belt myself with the tensioners and what not. Check engine light came on about 50 miles later, brought it to the dealer and sure enough, the timing is off. They said they would charge $280 to fix it. Decent price? thanks

Re: Decent price for timing belt service? (rgl133)

You could easily loosen the belt and move it. Chances are your just off a tooth.
$280's not bad,

Chris

So if i losened the belt and then moved it back a tooth or foward a tooth, that could solve the problem?

Ya,
Just line up everything again, loosen the tensioner and it will move
My first timming belt was off a tooth, I lined everything up then counted to a Line I made at the same point on both Cam sprockets and noticed they didn't line up... Exhaust was off a tooth. Took about 30min the 2nd time around (sorry kind of hard to explain what I did)
Chris
