[Evos_R]

I've had my '04 S60 R for about a month and a half now. This is my first Volvo, and so far I love the car. It's shown to be a little on the expensive to maintain side, but other than that it's been incredible. I detailed it today so I finally thought a couple of pics were due. I just got a tint yesterday, my first mod. I got 38% 3M all around and I think its the perfect shade. I know I would have regretted going 20%. Also, this is my first week with AWD. It just came back from the shop where I had the collar gear replaced (big surprise, right?). Grand total was $156, thanks to a 3k/3mo warranty from the dealer. Total cost was over $900 with labor. All I can say is that the acceleration in 1st gear is stunning...and I love it. I'm having an iPod interface from USA Spec installed tomorrow and I have yellow fogs bulbs by PIAA on order, but next on the mod list is a PhMIC and probably a DP. This 90 degree weather is killing my power. Then I'll probably do an exhaust (custom?), then a chip. Let me know what you guys think.

Well i cant see the pics (thank you military internet nazi's) but welcome to the forum. I just got my R a month ago and I love it!
Glad to hear you got that collar gear issue out before your warranty ran out!
Can you tell me where you got your yellow fogs on order from and what bulb type. I want to get a pair for mine as well!

Excellent place to start, especially with the impending summer. The Phuz product package is an excellent (and inexpensive route). I've seen some of his Downpipes and piping first hand straight out of the box. Nothing beats it.

To save money/time, you could do exhaust and downpipe at the same time.

I would do all of your prep bolt-on mods first before considering a chip. Don't forget a good air filter/air box!

Evan, I bought the PIAA Plasma Ion Crystal Yellow bulbs from Amazon, H3 Style. I'll install them early next week and post pics so you can get an idea.

car looks sweet, nice tint too.

if it's not too late and you have a choice skip the USA Spec ipod adapter and go with IMIV

Nice R, but I would have to agree with atacamaR, you might regret the USA Spec iPod Adapter, but I guess I lean towards iMIV

The IMIV is amazing. The US Spec iPod adapter....not so much.

I'm a bit confused; are you from NY or IN? The plate is a NY plate, so is the registration and the inspection sticker. But I see you've got no front license plate... let me guess...the car is registered in NY but you drive it in IN??

Since I have not said it before, welcome!

I recommend Phuzzy Motorsports for your FMIC and downpipe. Exhaust is a tricky choice these days. You will either have to go the 2x2" way, or the 3" way. Having owned the EST catback and now a modified version of the 3" SVR, 3" is the way to go IMHO!

I agree, my USA spec has a whine that changes with suspension loading. If I put it in advanced, it's unbearable. Have'nt had time to troubleshoot yet, but I wish I went with IMIV

Dammit! Oh what a bummer. And I thought I had done enough research. I had never even heard of the iMIV. I just had the USA Spec installed today, and I have to say I like it - so maybe I don't have the best, but at least it does what I want it to do. It's a long shot from the cassette adapter I had in my VW.

You got it http://********************/smile/emthup.gif I grew up in NY, but I go to school at Purdue. So I lay low in NY but no one cares in Indiana because that's the law out there. They also have a 35% tint law out there instead of the useless 70% law here

I've had zero issues with mine. The play list thing is kinda crappy, and I wish I could control the ipod, through the ipod but all in all it's a whole hell of a lot better then a FM transmitter.
