Re: Debadge Questions and HID q (Sk8 Ma BaNaNa)

for the debadging part: just take a small, unused razor blade
(like the one used in this kind of knife:
)
and gently cut the foam between the badges and the trunk. be careful not to damage the paint!!
another possibility is to use dental floss to get the badge off. (but I've got no experience with that)... should work just fine.
after that, use some goo-gone or paper towel to rub off the remaining black gunk.
I debadged my car after it was three years old, and still no problems with faded paint...
just be sure to polish the debadged parts

and with your HIDs... I think 6000k will look very good

Debadging is cake. You can use dental floss to cut the adhesive (double sided tape). Whatever residue is left, use goo-gone to clean it off. It also helps if you warm up the tape prior to cutting it.
Some one else is gonna have to chime in about the HID's. I didn't get the chance to do HID's before I traded in my S40.

Thanks man. There's not a lot of modded Mistral Green S40/V50's. Can't wait to see what you do with yours. I honestly couldn't tell you how much I put into it. I would have to go and price it all out from from the respictive websites.

Yeah, Matt's old S40 was pretty sick. Shoulda been mine. LOL. Dang dealer. I like my black on black tho, can't really complain. It would've been nice having all the mods to start off with tho...and there aren't a lot of Mistral Greens out there, so that was pretty sweet.

6000k for 55w, 4300k for 35w HIDs. I have my HIDs powered off using a battery harness so in order not to have the Low beam failure warning, I need to get the cancellers and wire them directly to the factory harness. I can live with the low beam failure warning, not worth the extra bucks for the cancellers.

The main reason he says that is because the 55w kit is closer to our spec wattage so there is less of a chance of getting the bulb out warning. Also, the 55w kit is not too bright, since the projection lens helps diffuse the light somewhat. The lights are bright, but not annoyingly so. I've never had anyone flash their lights at me or anything.

Re: (Vash13)

Heat gun and even a hair dryer could make these things fall off. I just debadged an R yesterday and they nearly just fell off with very little force and some heat. Getting the goo off is the hardest part but i had it lookin factory with just some denatured alcohol and little bit of wax after.

I used a plastic card. It was like a credit card, but thinner. (It was a card for store credit)
Automotive goo-gone (don't know what makes it different than regular) and then a clay bar then wash and wax makes it perfect! I'd never risk trying to use a razor blade - it's more risk than reward.

Old thread I know:
But I just installed my 35w 8000k and one light turns on and flickers out after about 20 seconds, and the other makes no effort to even turn on.
What gives?
